Lena Younts Meredith
Lena Younts Meredith joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2012. She attended the University of South Carolina on a full academic scholarship where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1991. While at the University of South Carolina, she participated in a study abroad program with the University of Kent/Canterbury, England where she earned a Diploma in English Literature. During undergraduate and law school, Mrs. Meredith was employed as a paralegal in Columbia, South Carolina. This led her to the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she graduated with her law degree in 1995. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1995, the U.S. District Court of South Carolina in 1996 and the U.S. District Court Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017. She is a certified Circuit Court Mediator, certified Arbitrator and South Carolina Guardian ad Litem. She is a member of the Greenwood County Bar Association, SC Association for Justice, and the SC Workers’ Compensation Education Association, where she has served on the SCWCEA Educational Conference Planning Committee.
She previously practiced with the law firm of Miles and Younts in Sumter, SC and Coffey, Chandler and Meredith in Manning, SC. Her primary areas of practice are Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, Premises Liability, Civil Tort Litigation, Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Probate Litigation. She is a past member of the Sumter County and Clarendon County Bar Associations and has previously served on the Third Circuit Attorney Fee Dispute Resolution Board. She’s also previously served on the Board of Mud Pies Creative Learning Preschool at Main Street United Methodist Church, the Board of Trustees for Main Street United Methodist Church, and as volunteer to the Board of the Lighthouse of the Carolinas, Inc., a faith based residential recovery program/halfway house.
Mrs. Meredith is married to F. Michael Meredith, Jr., a native of Greenwood, and together they have four children. Lena is devoted to her family, and has traveled far and wide to cheer them on in the many sports they’ve played over the years. She also enjoys art, including painting, ceramics, jewelry making and fiber arts. She recently joined the Board of the Arts Center of Greenwood.
